If you find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Ciutat Vella in Barcelona, a visit to Granja is an absolute must. Nestled on Carrer de Santa Anna, 24, this charming cafe embodies the spirit of cozy, authentic dining in the heart of the city.

Granja isn't just any cafe; it's a delightful spot where locals gather to savor their favorite breakfast dishes. With a warm, unpretentious atmosphere, stepping inside feels like visiting a friend's home rather than a bustling eatery. The narrow layout creates an intimate setting, allowing you to enjoy your coffee while watching the owners skillfully prepare fresh baguettes, an experience that adds to the cafe's charm.

Based on numerous customer reviews, the standout item on the menu appears to be the tortilla de patatas, often described as delicious and comforting, perfect for a satisfying breakfast. Additionally, the affordable prices mean you can treat yourself without breaking the bank—one breakfast here often costs less than a single sandwich at nearby competitors. As Andreea Tirnacop noted, discovering Granja after being turned away by overpriced establishments nearby was a delightful surprise that made their morning brighter.

The friendly service at Granja is another highlight. Patrons have consistently praised the staff for their approachable demeanor and attentiveness. You can expect a smile as you sip on a deliciously brewed coffee or sip a refreshing sangria, making your visit all the more enjoyable. Dylan's comment encapsulates this perfectly: “Service is super friendly. Real recommendation for people who like it more calm.”

The snug ambiance, coupled with great prices and delectable food, makes Granja a fantastic choice for breakfast lovers and those seeking a respite from the urban hustle. It stands out in the busy Barcelona scene not just for its offerings but for the genuine, heartwarming experience it delivers.

So why not take a break from your explorations and step into this hidden gem? You’ll leave not only satisfied but likely with a new favorite spot in Barcelona. Don't miss out!

We were on our way to the Enrique Tomás place, as suggested by Google Maps, only to arrive and be greeted by outrageous prices. Besides, there was no one actually buying anything. Then we noticed a cute little place across the street — 24 Granja. We had a lovely breakfast there for the price of a single sandwich from Enrique Tomás. The service was excellent—the gentleman who served us was very kind and welcoming—and the food was delicious.

A cafe that probably hasn't changed in years, which is both good and bad. Don't expect fancy looks. Cleanliness could have been a tad better too. On the other hand, it has a climate. The cafe is crammed into a narrow corridor so everything happens near the tables. You could see owners preparing baguettes once their supply runs out. It's more like having a coffee at your friend's friend home than at a cafe. We've seen quite a few of locals there. Prices are very modest. I think it was the least we paid for a coffee during the whole trip to Barcelona.

Lovely local bar just off la ramblas. Same price for tourists as locals. Large beer and a sangria 8.75 euros. Not large but enough seating. Mainly locals drinking there. Pizza and some other meals available. Lovely hosts. Highly recommend.
